Virtual Learning Resources

During the difficult circumstances around COVID restrictions, Absolute Classics was determined to provide young music students with as much virtual support as possible. Some of the most affected were those who played woodwind and brass, and our singers.

In response we contracted top international musicians to record online resources that young musicians could access for free from their mobile phone or tablet, and continue practicing every day (?!) from home.

‘We are truly grateful to Absolute Classics for the support and opportunities that they have provided to our students during the period of home schooling and national lockdown. They responded very quickly to the developing situation and provided invaluable aids to support young people not only at this point, but in the years to come, as we all find new ways of working’

The above image is of the brilliant pianist, Tim Abel who recorded about 50 song accompaniments so that young singers could practice their repertoire with a real musician instead of a backing track. This has a huge imapct on, and is very important for the student to be able to develop advanced musicianship.

The image at the very top is captured from a series of vocal masterclasses which the amazing Matthew Roughly recorded, also for young singers to continue to practice excellent vocal techniques as much as possible.

“What a fantastic resource. Thank you so much for sending this and allowing my students accessing to something so valuable.”

Hannah Gill – Kirkcudbright Academy
