Absolute Classics’ 2018 festival at the beginning of August brought to Dumfries & Galloway a stellar line up of international musicians. While they were here for the concerts, we arranged for them to provide free masterclasses for local young people.

We are supremely fortunate to have international musicians of such high calibre mentor our young musicians in performance and musicianship; and they included Huw Wiggin (woodwind), Nicky Spence (vocals), Anna Fedorova (piano), Benedict Klöckner (strings) and Nicholas Schwartz (strings). All of the participants were again extremely grateful for the opportunity, and feedback from both the young people and their parents detail how immensely inspiring these masterclasses are.
